Obituary for Brenda Lee Warden Townsend Mrs.

Mrs. Brenda Lee Warden Townsend, age 60 and a resident of Saucier, died on Thursday, January 26, 2017, in Gulfport. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Townsend; John Conn and Vernice Conn; her sister, Gloria Townsend, and a grandson, Justin Hahn. Brenda is survived by her mother, Myrtle Townsend; her daughter, Veronica Hill; her son, Duane (Ashley) Warden; her brothers, Ronnie (Alan) Townsend and Bill Townsend and her grandchildren, Sarah Hill, Kristopher Hines, Preslei Hines, and Kristlynn Warden. She was a native of Long Beach and a graduate of Long Beach High School. She worked for 14 years as a counter clerk with the United Parcel Service. Brenda would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time, job security is 110%, her new mission takes her to a wonderful place called Heaven where she will be socializing, dancing, singing, and laughing to her hearts content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her children, friends and family to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated. To know Brenda was to love her. She never met a stranger. She had a contagious laugh that could light up any room. She was a devout Christian that knew and loved the Lord. She was an amazing mother that raised two wonderful children. We will miss her smile, her energy, her love for life, and her wonderful laugh. She was loved by so many, and during her 7-year battle with cancer it showed. A very special thank you to Dr. Allison Wall, her Oncologist. We can never repay or thank you enough. The family also wants to thank the nurses and staff at Gentiva Hospice and Canon Hospice along with her two dearest and loving friends, Monica Spurlock and Judy Reyer. There will be a candle light memorial gathering, to celebrate Brenda’s life, on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 5:30pm at the Long Beach Harbor. Southern Mississippi Funeral Services is serving the Townsend family.
