Rodney James Yates, 65, of Biloxi, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Ocean Springs.Rodney was a lifelong resident of Biloxi and D’Iberville. He served in the National Guard in the 70’s and 80’s. He worked as the assistant manager of Winn Dixie in Ocean Springs and a delivery driver for Munro Petroleum.He is preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Clinton Yates; son, Grant Yates; father, James “Jimmie” Yates; mother, Gloria Yates Roland, and brother, John Wayne Yates.Survivors include his loving wife, June Yates of Biloxi; son, Jimmy Yates of D’Iberville; daughter, Sondra (Chris) Boney of Biloxi; son, Tyler Yates of Gulfport; daughter, Nichole (Austin) Stone of Vancleave; son Justin (Amena) Dillinger of Colorado Springs; sisters Kay Bosarge, Delores Miller, and Adelle Yates; brother, Paul Yates, and 12 grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 10-11 am at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 with funeral services following at 11 am.
