Obituary

Charles David Suthoff passed from this life on September 18, 2019. He was born in Jackson County, MS on September 25, 1953. Charles was the youngest of four brothers born to AB Suthoff, Sr. and Cora Suthoff.

Charles lived most of his life in the Jackson County area, where he attended Moss Point School System. Charles loved baseball and football. He excelled in both sports, especially as a batter in baseball and running back on the football field.
Charles was employed at International Paper for 24 years, until the mill closed. Later he worked at Ocean Springs Hospital for 14 years.

Charles attended Griffin Street Baptist Church as a young man, but was saved at Lily Orchard Baptist Church under the ministry of Pastor Larry Darden. When Charles was no longer able to live alone he went to Grand Bay and became a member of Friendship Baptist Church. As always, wherever he attended he became a beloved member. He loved Jesus and people and always wanted everyone to know it.. Charles was called to witness and he was quick to share his faith wherever he found himself. He frequently gave out crosses, tracs and shared Jesus through his word.

Charles was proceeded in death by his parents AB and Cora Suthoff, his oldest brother William Rex Suthoff and his precious niece Becky Sellers. Charles is survived by two brothers Bernard (Pattie) Suthoff and William Henry (Francina) Suthoff. Sister-in-law Joyce Suthoff. Many nieces and nephews. Two special friends Freida Wright and Dorothy Anderson.

Southern MS Funeral Service is proud to serve the Suthoff Family.

I am saddened to hear of Charles' passing. I had the pleasure of working with him at Ocean Springs Hospital. I looked forward to our talks when he delivered material to Lab or I needed help. While I write this I am admiring a framed Elvis picture he presented to me. Rest in peace Charles.

I got to know Charles while working at Ocean Springs Hospital. Charles was one of the sweetest people I've known. If there was a coca cola and a candy bar on my desk, I knew Charles had stopped by. I have two special memories of Charles; one Christmas I gave him a picture frame that you could record a greeting on. I recorded my voice on there. Charles loved that! One day, I snuck in and changed the greeting, Charles got a kick out of that! The other was how worried he was that he didn't have anything nice to wear to his mother's funeral. I gave him a suit of my son's that had never been worn. Charles looked so spiffy and was so excited to get that for his mom's funeral. Charles was a little quirky, but aren't we all? And that is what made Charles, Charles. He was special and will be missed and thought of fondly with both laughter and tears. If I know Charles, he is sitting in Heaven and talking to Jesus and looking down at us and is happy. Love ya Charles :), Miss Windy

My Uncle Charles, no matter where he seen me or how old I was he always patted me on the head and said " My Kimmy Dale" When he first met my oldest son Lance, he used to say he was the perfect match for his Kimmy Dale, and as he grew he used to sit on the front patio area with him at Grandma's and listen to music and drink rootbeer, when my youngest son Taylor was born, I remember my Grandma Suthoff was at the hospital, she said now you know you have to bring this baby to see Charles, so as soon as we were able to travel, we did just that, he said Kimmy Dale now what cow did you let lick this baby's hair off lol! He was always my favorite from a little girl on! I will Miss you Uncle Charles! Love you!
