Obituary for Billy

William “Bill” Joseph Sherman, 67, of Latimer, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents George M. Sherman Sr and Ursula Montgomery Sherman; and brother George M. Sherman Jr.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Doris S. Sherman; sons, C. Todd (Emily) Sherman, Timothy A. (Kristine) Sherman, and Adam B. (Amanda) Sherman; sister, Cathy M. Peterson; brother, Scott (Michelle) Sherman; grandsons, Alex, Jarrett, Lucas, Liam, Bryce, and Max Sherman; and granddaughter, Katey Moran; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Bill was born in Biloxi on January 28, 1951. He attended St. Martin High School and graduated in 1970. He retired from Dupont, Delisle Plant after a 28-year career. He was the human resources and training manger. After he retired from Dupont he began his “dream job” as the Mississippi Gulf Coast Cruising the Coast Registration Director from 2007-2009. He was an avid car enthusiast with a passion for Corvettes and classic cars. He was a charter member and officer for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Corvette Club for many years. Bill was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-8 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Latimer with interment following in D’Iberville Memorial Park.
