Obituary for Mary Delorise Tapp (Myers)

Delorise Myers Tapp, 84, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2018 in Ocean Springs, Ms, surrounded by her family.

Delorise was born on September 7, 1934 in the Larue community. Delorise was best known for reading and studying the Bible and she loved listening to good gospel music. She spent countless hours with grandchildren outside enjoying country life. She also loved her flowers outside and loved “showing them off.”

She is preceded in death by her parents Gilmore and Maybell Myers, her husband, Herman Tapp Sr, infant son, Gary Arthur Tapp, granddaughter, Amy Levron Reed, and great grandson, Brandt Gable.

She is survived by her children Deborah (Billy) Gable of Larue , Buster (Melynie) Tapp of Kiln, Sherry Levoy of Ocean Springs, and Marie (Bruce) Ladner of Larue. She is also survived by one sister, Frances Tapp and one brother, Norbert (Judy) Myers.

She has 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren who will greatly miss her presence here on earth. Delorise loved Ramsey Creek Baptist Church and Larue Baptist Church. Both churches had a special place in her heart.
She will also be missed by her new found friend, Mrs. Doty, who she roommated with at Greenbriar.

The family would like to thank the Greenbriar facility and Ocean Springs Hospital for taking care of their mother.

Services will be at First Baptist Church of Windsor Park on Tuesday, September 25th. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 with the service beginning at 11:00. Graveside service will be at Ramsey Creek Baptist Church. Bro. Eddie Lambert will officiate the service and Bro. Barney O’neal will read her obituary.

Pallbearers will be all of her grandsons.
