Lois H. Dawson, age 71, was called to her heavenly home on August 31, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.

Lois is preceded in death by her mother, Lois and father, James Holliday; all of her aunts and uncles, as well as 3 of 7 of her cousins. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Harry E. " Yankee" Dawson; daughters, Teresa Dawson and Marie Ritson (Scott); son, Harry E. Dawson, Jr. (Dawn); granddaughter, Mellyssa Ritson; and grandson, Aaron Dawson; brother, James Holliday (Pat); and nephews and nieces, James III, Jay Holliday, Catherine Weindorf (Tim); great nieces, Caelyn and Madelyn Holliday, and Kylie and Mia Weindorf.

Lois was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a retired R.N. who worked in many hospitals both on the coast, and in her hometown of Montgomery, AL. She retired from home health at Tender Loving Care of Gulfport, MS. Lois moved to Long Beach in 1980 to be closer to her only brother and his family.

There will be a celebration of life in Mrs. Dawson's church home, Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle, on Beat Line Rd. of Long Beach, MS. Services will be held on Saturday, September 8th, 2018. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 3:00- 3:30 pm. Services will be begin at 3:30 pm. The family wishes to thank both Tender Loving Care as well as Notre Dame Hospice for their care. A special thanks to Ally, Leslie, and Stephanie for their extra help and loving care in Lois' final days.
