John Michael Nutefall, 74, of Ponchatoula, died Friday, September 7, 2018 in Hammond, Louisiana.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3652, American Legion Post 47, Disabled American Veterans Post 68, and Vietnam Veterans Post 1052. He was retired from the United States Air Force and held a Master's degree in social work.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Eva Nutefall.

Mr. Nutefall is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Elizabeth Ruth Nutefall; children, Colleen Marie Nutefall Ladnier and her husband Jimmie, Michael Fredrick Nutefall and his wife Danielle, and Jesse McCorkle; siblings, Kenneth (Yolanda) Nutefall and Daniel (Kathy) Nutefall; grandchildren, Tiffany Nutefall, Jessica Nutefall, Jonathan Ladnier, and KeeLee Ladnier, and great grandchildren, Vanessa Madison and Liam Ladnier. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, especially Elizabeth and Jacob McFadden.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 250 West Hickory Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454. Mr. Nutefall will be interred in the memorial garden following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the the family for assistance with funeral expenses.
