Obituary for Naomi Evelyn Beddingfield (Morie)

Naomi E. Morie Beddingfield, 97, of D'Iberville, MS, went to be with her heavenly father on November 8th, 2018, her birthday.

She was born in Pecan, MS on November 8, 1921. MS. She was a graduate from Moss Point High School in 1940. On July 3rd, 1940, Naomi married the love of her life, Mr. James D. (Jack ) Beddingfield. Together they shared 65 years. They resided in D'Iberville, MS where they raised three children; Patricia E. Bosarge (Carroll), Jackie O. Landry (Lee), and James Roy Beddingfield (Laurie).

Naomi was a member of Cedar Lake Methodist Church, Pastored by Larry Pickering. In her early years, she worked for Kress Co, in Biloxi, MS. Naomi also worked for the local Meaut's Dry Cleaners in North Biloxi. Up until 1998, Naomi was the co-owner and bookkeeper of B & B Fence Company, with her husband Jack. Naomi and her husband were active members of The D'Iberville Community Club for many years. They both had the honor to serve as King and Queen of their Carnival Ball. Naomi was an active member of "The Order of The Eastern Star", which she dearly loved. Both where also members of "Belles & Buoys Square Dancing Club". Together they enjoyed camping and traveling around the world by cruise ship and their motor home. They visited every state, except Alaska, and some more than once. They also traveled to the Republic of Panama and Canada. Naomi loved traveling our beautiful country in her motor home with family and friends.

Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jack" Beddingfield; parents, Mittie and John Morie; in-laws, Dolly Bell and Clyde Clifton Beddingfield; brothers, Otis Morie, J.C Morie and Joseph Morie; sisters, Creasy Patterson and Nettie Wells; brother-in-laws, Henry Clifton ( H.C) Beddingfield, Walter Clyde Beddingfield, William (Billy) Beddingfield, Ed Patterson and Orey Wells; sister-in-laws, Elsey Kilbert Morie, Louise Morie and Bonnie Morie; son-in-law, Carroll Bosarge; grandson; Lee Landry II; grandson-in-law, Todd Burdette; step grandson, Nicky Kostmayer; great granddaughter, Emilee Landry and great grandson Trey Boyd.

She is survived by her brother; John Morie Jr; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Beddingfield, and Tommy Beddingfield; children, James Roy (Laurie) Beddingfield, Patricia Bosarge, and Jackie (Lee) Landry; grandchildren, Tina Alley, Renee (Chris) Murphy, Ray Wise, Greg (Nedia) Wise, Maria (Charlie) Short, James (Kendra) Landry, Cliff (Nicole) Landry, Connie (Ian) McCoy, James (Amber) Beddingfield II, Janell (Jeremy) Allen, Jennifer (Jason) Gardner, and step grandson Chris Kostmayer; 42 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren. She had 23, 5th generations. She will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

The Family would like recognize and thank Sarah Tate, Ginny Seaman, Darlene Lamey, Carol Redmond and Kindred Hospice, for all of their loving care and help they gave our mother in her time of need.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 16th, 2018 from 12:00-12:30 PM for family, and 12:30- 2:00 PM for friends and public at the Cedar Lake Methodist Church, Cedar Lake Rd., D'Iberville, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Sweatman Cemetery, Mallett Rd., D'Ibervile, MS. Mike Scarbrough will be officiating.
