Obituary for James Kelly Gillespie Jr.
Mr. James Kelly Gillespie Jr., 51, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away at home on Sunday January 20, 2019 surrounded by his family members.
Mr. Gillespie was born on March 20, 1967 in Montgomery, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Kelly was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was an electrical design engineer employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 17 years. He was a devoted member of Center Pointe Church in Ocean Springs. Kelly loved to cheer on the Alabama Crimson Tide and the New Orleans Saints every weekend. His favorite things to do were go to the beach, visit New Orleans, play the drums, and listen to music, but most of all, spend quality time with his wife and kids.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 25 years Jennifer Dixon Gillespie, his children Chris Gillespie, Jayden (Mandy) Gillespie, Heather Gillespie, and Summer Gillespie, parents James (Sue) Gillespie and Linda Cole, brothers David (Jennifer) Gillespie and Rick Gillespie, Mother and Father-in-law Chunks and Mary Dixon and numerous family members and friends.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Hospice of Light and our dear friend Laurie Clark for taking such good care of our beloved Kelly.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Center Pointe Church, 6201 MS-57, Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm with Brother Ted Pagel officiating at Center Pointe Church. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
