Bertha Ann “Bert” Eaglin (Simmons)
February 12, 1958 – January 25, 2019
Bertha Ann “Bert” Eaglin, 60 of D’Iberville, passed peacefully from this life on Friday surrounded by family. She was employed by Desporte’s Seafood for over 18 years. Prior to Desporte’s, she worked at her sisters’ deli, “Rena’s Deli” on Water Street in Biloxi, MS.
She was preceded by her parents, James B. and Vivian Simmons, and her loving dog, Harley.
She is survived by her husband of almost 15 years, Peter Eaglin; her children, Glenn Battaya, Jr. (Shirley) and Stacey Battaya Maurer (Jason); her grandchildren, Katelynn, Brennan, Connor, and Camrynn Battaya, and Jacob Glenn Maurer; her siblings, Johnny Simmons (Sandra), James Simmons (Earline), Brenda Sexton (Lyn), Glenda Anderson, Lukie Simmons (Mary), Irene Stagner (Jim), and Rena Polovich (Toby Richey). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Hospice for making her transition very peaceful.
A visitation will be held at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services, 6631 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. The family will welcome friends from 5pm – 7pm with a memorial service to follow.
