Obituary for Hews Richard Fitzgerald
On March 14, 1951, in Hattiesburg, MS, Hews Richard “Ricky” Fitzgerald departed this life at San Juan Fishing Camp in Vancleave, MS, Sunday evening February 3, 2019.
HE was sitting in his favorite chair on the front porch watching over the camp.
He loved being on the water; his memory will forever be etched here. Ricky loved helping others and he loved with a love that warmed many. He came here with his late parents Hews Morgan and Lucy Mae Cameron Fitzgerald in 1960. He is also proceeding in death by his sister Betty Lou Rogers.
Ricky graduated from Vancleave High School in 1969. He was an Army Veteran and he retired from MDOT in 2016. Ricky loved to be in his boat out fishing, riding, and enjoying Gods creation.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family his daughters Tracy, Kelly Leigh Stewart of D'Iberville, MS and Morgan Chase Fitzgerald of Vancleave, MS. His grandchildren Hunter, Blake Stewart and Alli Stewart. His two sisters, Kitty Faye (Dude) Scarbrough of Vancleave, MS and Mary Alice Rouse of Gulfport, MS. A host of nieces and nephews. Ricky will be greatly missed.
A memorial service was held at Pine Lake Baptist Church Friday February 8th, 2019.
