Dennis Dean Sconyers, age 61, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 surrounded by loved ones overlooking the bayou listening to his favorite jams. His zest for life was contagious. Dennis never met a stranger. He loved everyone and he made sure you knew it.
Dennis was born on January 19, 1958 in Biloxi, MS. He worked on boats all of his life. He started out on his family shrimp boat, The Convoy anchored in Back Bay. Saltwater was in his blood as he captained many crew and supply boats that served the oil industry in the Gulf of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Sconyers; and his 2nd Wife, Kathy Sconyers.
Survivors include his 1st wife and best friend, Debra Eleuterius; children, Alison (Sconyers) Block, Jonathan Sconyers and Valerie (Sconyers) Tran; grandchildren, Dennis Alleman, Landyn Block, Sophia Tran, Logan Block and Christian Tran; mother, Adonia Dean (Parker) Perry; siblings, Roy Sconyers, Glenn Sconyers, Chuck Sconyers, Jennifer Lovely, Beth Cole, Jason Perry and Tom Perry; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that felt like family.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Belle Fountain Baptist Church 7900 Fountainbleau Road Ocean Springs, MS 39564. A celebration of life memorial will take place at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests honoring Dennis's spirit by making memories with loved ones.
