William L. Barton Jr. (Billy), 64, of Vancleave, MS passed away peacefully on March 31, 2020 at the Lighthouse Assisted Living & Memory Care center in Ocean Springs, MS.
To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of William Levert Barton Jr., please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
Billy is survived by his wife Shellene; his brothers Manly, Virgil and Mike; his sons Josh, Lee and Clay; and his eight grandchildren Olivia, Hannah, David, Evangeline, Miles, Bayou, Lottie and Otis. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Jean Barton; and his sister Melody.
He was born December 19, 1955 in Mobile, AL. In 1976, Billy married his highschool sweetheart, Shellene Scarbrough. He faithfully served at the Home of Grace for 37 years, continuing the legacy passed on from his father, Rev. Bill Barton, Sr. Billy also served as a deacon, trustee and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Vancleave.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Billy let the light of Jesus shine through him in all that he did. He led his family by example and found joy in the small things. His humble leadership at the Home of Grace was a monument to God’s big work in and through him. From his charming grin to his infectious laugh, the joy of the Lord was evident all over him (and as loud as his sneeze!)
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Home of Grace (www.homeofgrace.org/give).
