Obituary for Werthem Bang Jr.

Werthem ( "Smokey") Bang, Jr. Age 69

Werthem was born in Vancleave, MS on August 26, 1950. He was a resident of Gautier MS.

Smokey was a brick mason with Coblentz Masonary for 35 years. He enjoyed watching Nascar (Jimmy Johnson# 48) hunting, fishing,and when his boys were small watching them play baseball and football, and spoiling his babygirl rotten.

He was a member of Sons of American Legion Post 1992 and a past member of Ocean Springs Elks Lodge 2501.

Werthem was preceded in his death by his sons, Glenn Bang and Chad Bang; parents, Werthem Bang Sr., and Lilly Ely Bang; brothers, Donald Bang, Claude Ely, Elmer Bang, Glenn Ray Bang; and sister, Earnestine Bullock, as well as his best friend, Irvin Coblentz and his fishing partner, Ed (Pops) Huggins.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois Bang; his daughter, Shanda Bang (his favorite person in the world), and his pitbull, Raynee Daye; 3 grandchildren, Justin Bang, Kendall (Brandy) Bang, and Caleb Bang all of Vancleave; sisters, Ruby Tanner, Virginia (Ronald) Baxter, Clara(Larry) Triolo; brothers Clyde (Judy) Ely, Norman Bang,Willie Bang, Fabian (Rabbit) Bang, and Peter Bang; sister in laws; Gloria (Mike )Myers, Rita (Edmond) Waltman; special son, David (Jennifer) Fisher; and special daughter, Carla (Eugene) Waltman; as well as many family and friends

Pallbearers will be Mike Burkes,Greg Prevost, Eugene Waltman, David Fisher, Mike Myers, Michael Kenderick, Norman WIlliams, and Greg Webb.

Special thanks to Dr.Thomas Stevens and staff, Ashley Triolo, Shawn and Monica Waltman, Darlena Stratton, Rachel Honea, Greg Prevost, Zack (Maggie) Duke and Family ,Carol Thomas, BooBoo and GeorgeAnn Bang, Norman Williams, Greg Spanier and the girls at Burnham drugs for the love and support during this time.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 at 10 am at Vancleave Holiness Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Alexander officiating.
