Obituary for Joseph Malcolm Derouen
Joseph “Joey” Malcolm Derouen of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020. Joey is the son of Keith and Iris Derouen.
Joey is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Malcolm and Dorothy Fountain, August Derouen and Norton and Eleanor Gum; and brother, Keith A. Derouen, Jr.
Survivors include his parents, Keith and Iris Derouen; daughter; Kirsten Derouen; son, Joseph “JD” Derouen; grandchild, Avery Rock; sisters, Angela Seymour, Brandi Waltman and Joie Derouen; 6 nieces and nephews, and 4 great nieces and nephews.
Although Joey was taken too soon, he lived a happy life doing everything he enjoyed. If he wasn’t drawing or building something, he was spending time with his family. Joey had a heart of gold and loved being with his nieces and nephews.
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that and Angel came and called my name and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, In heaven, far above, and that I would have to leave behind all those that I love. When I walked through Heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled and said, “Welcome Home.” So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.

A private memorial for family and close friends, will be held at Keith and Iris’s house Friday, June 19th, 2020.
