Obituary for Patricia Lynn Brewer (Everett)

After 78 years of a life well lived, Patricia Everett Brewer passed away on Saturday, August 13th. Right until the end she stayed strong and brave battling cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will honor her commitment to faith and family. More than anything, she embraced living life to the fullest with those you love.

Daughter of Ione Mallett Everett and U.S. Marine Allen L. Everett, Patricia was born in California June 13, 1944 and moved as her military family moved, living much of her life in the Carolinas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Patricia —Patsy to family, Miss Pat in the Hat to friends — worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years, taking care of the most fragile of patients, premature babies.

Sports always a part of her life, Patricia excelled in many, yet none more than golf. She was a member of Sunkist Country Club and won numerous championships over the years, including the Gulf Coast Women’s Championship in 1986 and Mississippi Women’s Senior Amateur Championship in 1994.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brother Allen L. Everett II, who passed April 2020. She is survived by her daughters: Dee Kimberley Brewer of Atlanta; Danielle Brewer Jones of Biloxi; and Davina Kristi Brewer of Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. If you are able, please also consider donating blood - the gift of life.

Her family asks you to join them in a Celebration of Life, Thursday evening September 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be a small service at 4:30p.m., followed by a reception as friends and family gather to celebrate her life at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services, 6631 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS.
