Obituary for Jessie Ann Milazzo (LeBlanc)
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021 (Jessie) Ann Milazzo, loving and devoted wife and mother of five, passed away in her home peacefully at the age of 79.
Ann was born on November 11, 1941 in Biloxi, MS to Leo and Mary (Price) LeBlanc. She married her love of 48 years, Joseph P. Milazzo on December 2, 1960. The family takes comfort they are all now reunited in peace.
Ann was a long time resident of Vancleave, MS for over 30 years. Upon retiring from Ingalls Shipbuilding in 2001, where she worked in the Paint Department for 23 years, was on the Painter Apprenticeship Board and a Metal Trades Union member, she was actively involved with the community and various community organizations. She volunteered much time with Vancleave Volunteer Fire Department, Friends of the Library - Vancleave and Ocean Springs, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #42, and volunteered at First Baptist Church, Vancleave.
Ann leaves behind five children, Darren Wayne (Cathy) Milazzo, Faust Augustine (Lisa) Milazzo, Anna Louise (David) Webb, Joseph (Sandra) Milazzo and Alicia (John) McKenzie. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Marianne Britt, Christine (Michael) Seaman, Victoria (Jacob) Patton, Owyn Milazzo, Logan Milazzo, Melissa (Matt) Prince, Amelia (James) Prisock, Jamie (Tyler) Mackie, Tristin Milazzo, Johnathon (Stacy) McKenzie, and Briana McKenzie, as well as 10 great grandchildren. She has five siblings Brenda (David) Smith, Chester (Charlotte) LeBlanc, Allen (Diane) LeBlanc, Fredna (David) Bennett and Nathan (Beth) LeBlanc, numerous nieces and nephews, additional family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Mary LeBlanc and her husband Joseph Milazzo.
Mom, Ma, J.A., and Granny A you will be missed by many. Our lives have changed with your passing. A woman of strength, compassion and LOVE most of all. You loved your family with a fierce passion. All of us have our strengths that came from you, Mom. Your fierce love and protective instincts were instilled into all of us. We will no longer hear your words of wisdom (wanted or not), hear you call all of our names until you got to the child you wanted or even ask which one we were, eat meals until we couldn’t eat anymore and have you still ask if we were hungry. She is loved and is forever in our hearts and that little voice in our heads. She was and is our strength. She taught us what love and family truly meant. We are who we are today because of the values that were instilled into us. Family is everything, the rest is just background noise. She would pull together hope when others only saw defeat. She was a fighter to the end.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Light for their care and dedication to our Mom during the past 3 months. You all made her final days peaceful and comfortable.
Southern MS Funeral Services will be handling the arrangements on behalf of her family. A celebration of her life will be held at the family home on Saturday, June 5, 2021 between 11am – 3pm. 10820 Cherokee Rose Road, Vancleave MS.
In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to be made in her memory to Hospice of Light, Ocean Springs, MS and St Mary Catholic Church, 809 De La Pointe Drive, Gautier, MS 39553
