Obituary for Dexter Douglas Sells

Dexter Sells, 12/15/1923 - 4/11/2022, was born in Oklahoma and moved at the age of 12 to California. He was preceded in death by his parents and three of his children, Doyle, David, and Paula. He is survived by his brother, Jack Sells (Patti); daughter, Christine; granddaughters, Stephanie, Sherrie, and Heather; many great-grandchildren, a special niece, Jeanne (Charlie), and his long time companion and friend, Kay Matthews and her daughters, Marsha, Marlynn, and their families.

Dexter enjoyed his time as a campground host for 10 years at Gulf Island National Seashore in Ocean Springs. He also hosted at a campground in Roanoke, VA for several years. He was a member of the Quiet Birds and enjoyed flying his plane in his younger years. He never met a stranger! He loved telling stories and jokes, and he had plenty of them. He loved traveling in his motor home with Kay, playing cards, and reading anything he could get his hands on. He was a member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church.
