Obituary for Raymond Terry Creel

Raymond Terry Creel, Sr passed away peacefully Thursday, August 18, 2022. Terry was born March 2, 1948 to his parents Francis R C “Junius” Creel and Euna Fountain Creel. Terry was born and raised in Biloxi. He was a proud lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He attended and graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School. Terry along with his brothers grew up working in their father’s business, Creel & Sons Trawl Co., where he made and repaired shrimp trawls. He went on to take over the family business and continued to be a skilled trawl maker. In 1989, Terry opened his liquor business, Terry’s Package Store. He was a hard worker and excellent business man that strived to provide for his beloved family. He officially retired in 2021.
During his life, Terry was a life member of the Biloxi Elks Club #606 as well as a member of the Blessed Francis Seelos and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Terry married the love of his life, Donna, on January 24, 1969. They raised their 4 children in the St. Martin community. Terry was a loving and generous man. He opened his trawl shop on Saturdays to provide lunch to any friends, family, or those simply in need of a meal. He had hobbies that included hand crafting oyster knives, playing cards with his lifelong friends, shrimping and fishing. Terry will be remembered as a devoted family man, and he loved the life he created for himself. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren to no end.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Francis R C “Junius and Euna Creel; his brothers Junius (Sylvia) Creel, Wayne (Genevieve) Creel, and Dale Creel; and his son in law Jonathan Brewer. Left to honor his memory is his beautiful wife, Donna Creel; his children Terry Creel Jr., Christine Creel Brewer, Michael (Angie) Creel, and Jeffrey Creel; his grandchildren Gabrielle (Bryant) Dockens, Madeline Creel; his sister in law Sharon Creel; brother in laws Jimmy Carter and David (Dorothy) Carter; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:00am at Blessed Francis Seelos Catholic Church in Biloxi. Visitors are welcomed beginning at 10:00am. Interment will follow after mass at D’Iberville Memorial Park. Friends, family, and visitors are welcomed back to Blessed Francis Seelos Catholic Church for refreshments.
The Creel family would like to extend gratitude to Ocean Springs Hospital 2nd floor nurses, staff, and physicians for their care, compassion, and guidance they displayed to Terry and his family during this time.
