Obituary for David Royce Quave

David Royce Quave, 72, of Woolmarket passed away at home surrounded by his family. David retired after 42 years serving in the I.B.E.W. Local Union 903 out of Gulfport, MS, where he served as President of the Local and was the Apprenticeship Director. David served on the Executive Board and the Apprenticeship Committee for some years before he became president. He remained a retired member for ten years with a total of 52 years service. He served on the board for Woolmarket Little League and as Assistant District Manager for Little League in the 1980s. David coached both of his daughters in Woolmarket Little League Softball and later his grandson in Woolmarket Little League Baseball. David's greatest treasure was his family. He taught us how to be humble, kind, compassionate, honest, trustworthy, and loyal. He loved to sit and tell stories of things that happened when he was growing up, and now we realize that those stories always had a lesson or a point in them he was trying to get across. He mentored many young men and women and helped them to become better human beings. He will be missed beyond words. His greatest role in life was being a father and grandfather. He left a legacy and shoes that will be hard to fill.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Johnson Quave; his maternal-grandparents, Daniel A Johnson and Juliet Krohn Johnson; paternal-grandparents, Carly Quave and Leona Johnson Quave; and one nephew, Christopher Daniel Quave.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet Caporale Quave; his children, Jennifer (Stephen) Hilton, Casey (David) Conway, Davey (Melissa) Quave; his father, Artie W. Quave; his brother, Daniel (Debbie) Quave, and sister, Beverly (Doug) Bazzell; a grandson, Jonathan Hilton, five granddaughters, Morgan Husley, Erin Husley, Emilee Conway, Emma Grace Quave, and Ella Kate Quave; a brother-in-law, Louis M. (Sandy) Caporale, Jr. and sister- in-law, Rene Pittman; and an uncle, Obra Quave. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pall Bearers: Jonathan Hilton, Daniel Quave, Louis M. Caporale, Jr., Chad Quave, Chase Quave, Aaron Bazzell, Nic Bazzell, Doug Bazzell, Stephen Hilton, and David Conway.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Woolmarket Baptist Church, 12816 Lorraine Road, Biloxi. Visitation for David will be held from 10:00 A.M. - 12 Noon with a service following at 12:00 P.M.
The Family would like to thank the Medical Team and Doctors at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans and SAAD Healthcare in D'Iberville, who did everything they could to make our dad comfortable and help us grant his final wish to come home one last time. We would also like to thank all those, who prayed for us along this journey. It means more to us than you will ever know.
