He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, where he helped whenever and wherever he could to help with maintenance of the church, rectory and grounds. Rob never met a stranger. He would give you the shirt off his back if needed. He was such a caring and gentle soul with a rough exterior. If you were his friend, you were well loved, same with his family.

He served in Air National Guard for 6 years after High School. After serving in Air National Guard, he worked in the Production Planning department at Ingalls Shipbuilding for a few years. He then opened his own pool business, Boyd Pool Company for several years. He then went to work in Production Planning department at Halter Marine in Moss Point where he eventually retired from in 2013. He also owned his own construction business, Century Builders LLC where he helped rebuild houses after Hurricane Katrina and built his youngest daughter Christie's house.

He was an avid baseball player from a very young age. He played little league all the way through pony and colt league and was chosen to play on All Star team 6 years straight. In 1965, he was presented the Steve Parker Memorial trophy for Most Valuable Player. Then went on to play High School baseball where he was quite a star pitcher. He was recently inducted into the Ocean Springs Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2022 of which he and all of his family were so proud of. He was able for many years, before he got too sick, to mentor and coach his grandson Ethan in his baseball. He was so proud of his "Buddy" and "Little Protege`". Rob was a jack of all trades - could do anything and everything he put his mind to. He was a master builder, repair man, all around do-it-all man. For many years, he was the patriach of a huge Christmas yard display. If you ever rode down Goverment Street by Magnolia Park School you couldn't miss it. He loved playing golf, hunting, and working with Ethan with his baseball.
