Obituary for William Billy Peeler Jr.

William Billy Peeler Jr. was born in Pascagoula, MS., on March 18, 1944. From Pascagoula, his mother & father moved to Petal, MS. and raised both my father and uncle Joel Peeler. My father from a very young age was an avid outdoorsman. He grew up fishing with his family on the Bouie River in Hattiesburg, MS. For them, it was from hook to skillet on the banks of the Bouie River where Mrs. Peeler would clean & cook the fresh catfish being caught. Mr. Peeler proudly served his country in the Vietnam War where he received both accommodations and medals. He served his country proudly and was a true patriot to the “Red, White, & Blue”.

Mr. Peeler left behind his wife of almost 51 years, Mrs. Betty Lee Peeler; two sons, Brock (Courtney) Peeler and Brad (Beth) Peeler; step grandkids, Victoria, Dustin, and Dylan Ware; granddaughters, Madalyn, Lacey, and Camille Peeler; step great-grandkids, Grayson, Aiden, Aurora, Kai, Everleigh, Russ, and Powell; and a brother, Joel Peeler.

Mr. Peeler was very big into bass fishing here locally & all over the United States. He will be missed by many, but loved by all. He fought a great fight &now we lay him to rest on Thursday, September 22nd. Family visitation is from 9:00 am -9:30 am and friends visitation will start at 9:30 am -11:30am at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services, 6631 Washington Ave., Ocean Springs, Mississippi, followed by a procession to the Biloxi National Cemetery with a service there. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be made to the Wounded Warriors foundation.
