Jeanette “Ganny” McGowan
November 26, 1932 - October 11, 2022
Jeanette “Ganny” McGowan, age 89, of Biloxi, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. McGowan was a native and long time-resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and playing cards. She was loved by many and made lasting impressions on those who were fortunate enough to meet her. She will always be known for her firecracker personality, quick wit and, above all, her love for her family and God.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard “Bud” McGowan; her parents, Annie and Lawrence Ryan; her sister, Inez Waltman; her 2 brothers, Ralph Cuevas and Dude Ryan; her son, James Moran; her Grandson, Jason Guthrie and her long-time furry companion, Maggie May.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Patricia Valdez; Sharon Husley (Daniel) and Donna Guthrie (Michael); her 7 grandchildren, Stacey Miller, Craig Valdez, David Valdez, Jody Riggins and James Moran, Tristan Guthrie, Jerica Guthrie; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends.
Though she will be dearly missed by her family and friends, due to the guidelines at the Biloxi National Cemetery, which limits the number of flowers, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, to please make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Services will be held for family and friends on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 11:00am at the Biloxi National Cemetery. Brother Jason Garner will be officiating the service.
