Obituary for Donna Kaye Kokubun (Baker)
Donna Kaye Kokubun, 58, went to be with the LORD peacefully on January 3, 2023.
Donna was born on February 14, 1964, to Samuel and Dorris Baker in Abilene, Texas. She grew up in
Ocean Springs, MS. and was actively involved in church. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior as a
child and gave all Glory to God Almighty throughout her life. Donna was beloved by her devoted
husband and children. She was also loved by many that knew her through her long career as a Pharmacy
Technician and a Teacher's Assistant. She had an abiding love for music; and would often praise Jesus
through song and instruments. Donna never met a stranger and had a love for all those she
encountered. She loved to talk and share her faith with everyone she met, and could often be found
running late for plans because of conversations she would have with brand new acquaintances that she
had just met. It would be wrong to say that Donna lost her battle with cancer because she never
stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined and trusting her Lord.
Donna is survived by her Mother Dorris Baker, and Brother Gary Baker; her Husband of 38 years Mike;
her children Kevin (Brooke), Crystal (Tim); grandchildren Benaiah, Jemma, Apollos, Silas, Ezekiel, and
little soon to be baby Squires.
She is preceded by her father Samuel Baker, and two precious babies who went to Heaven far too soon.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on January 11, 2023, at Ocean Springs Assembly, 7909 Ocean Springs Rd., Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Visitation will begin at 10am-11am and Service at 11am. Immediately followed by her columbarium at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
