Obituary for Johnnie Louis Hambalek

Johnnie L. Hambalek, 78, of Biloxi, was called home to be with his heavenly father on Thursday, January 5th, 2023, Biloxi.
A native of Biloxi, Johnnie Hambalek was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His service record included USAR Control Group US Army Admin Center as a Title-36C20 lineman. Johnnie was a 1962 Ocean Springs High School graduate where he then went on to further his education at Brazoport College and MGCCC Jackson County Campus for welding and boiler making. Johnnie worked for DOW Chemical and retired in 2004.
Mr. Hambalek's hobbies included fly fishing with his children, grandsons, and son-in-law. He also enjoyed camping and hunting at Kelly's pond and going to the casinos with his wife Cindy. Johnnie was an expert carbine rifle marksman. Johnnie was baptized at Big Ridge Baptist Church and believed the Lord was his Savior and prayed in his own ways. His favorite bible verse was John 14:2-6.

Mr. Hambalek is preceded in death by his parents John and Irene Hambalek.

Survivors include his wife Cindy of 51 years. His children Kevin (Jennifer) Hambalek, Michelle (Bill) Cox, Shawn (Crystal) Hambalek. His grandchildren Kevin Jr., Justin, Nadia, Brett, Billy III, Brandon, Brittney, Kirsten, Mitchell, Laci and Haley. His great-grandchildren Emma, Eddie, Braylee, Lauren, Aiden, Alec, Aklin, Ryker and 2 more on the way. Mr. Hambalek is also survived by very special friends, Anthony (Beth) Curran, Cindy and Rachal Mizell, and Ken (Joliet) Grome.

The family will receive friends for Visitation Saturday January7,2023 9am-11am at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services Chapel 6631 Washington Avenue Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, at the Southern Mississippi Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will be held on Tuesday January 10,2023 at the Biloxi National Cemtery at 11am.
