Obituary for Mildred Beatrice Jarrell (McGinty)
Mildred “Millie” Beatrice McGinty Lipps Jarrell of Ocean Springs, 71, went home to be
with our Lord January 31, 2023 after a courageous fight with Pancreatic Cancer.
Millie was born April 28, 1951 in Centerville, MS. As a child her family moved to Ocean
Springs where she would live the rest of her life. She owned her own sign company,
Gulf Graphics, for more than 30 years and many of her sign work can be seen all along
the Gulf Coast. She was passionate in her work as well as her family. Fish frys were a
regular at her home where her children and grandchildren would gather. Millie loved the
outdoors and spent much time fishing and playing with her grandchildren. She had a
fiery selfless personality and was loved by all who had the privilege to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Connelly McGinty of Ocean
Springs.
Millie is survived by her 3 sons who were the light of her life, Cory Lipps (Aimee) of
Slidell, LA, Todd Lipps, Sr. (Margrett) of Ocean Springs, and Dalton Jarrell (Alexandra)
of Ocean Springs, MS. She absolutely cherished her 6 grandchildren Todd Lipps, Jr.,
Brenden Lipps, June Lipps, Morgan Lipps, Finn Lipps, and Clarke Jarrell. Millie is also
survived by her brother Macy McGinty(Eileen) of North Carolina, her former husband
Pete Jarrell, special friends Rev.Linda Giardelli, Barbara Walls, and her daughter in law
Shannon Lipps. She was loved by her 3 nieces and nephew as well as many other
friends and family who will miss her desperately.
The family would like to thank the Singing River Cancer Center and Hospice of Light for
their wonderful and compassionate care. Especially, Gina, Zai, Stephanie, Connie, and
Dr. Solly Chedid.
Services will be held Monday February 6, 2023 at Southern Mississippi Funeral
Services. Visitation for family will be at 4:30 p.m. and all other visitation from 5-7 p.m.
The Rev. Linda Giardelli will preside at a memorial service at 7 p.m.
