Obituary for Thomas "Tommy" Dimitry
Thomas "Tommy" Dimitry,77, of St. Martin passed away on Sunday March 12,2023 surrounded by his family.
Tommy was born in New Orleans, LA on July 6,1945 to the late Pauline and Alexander Dimitry Sr. Known to many of his family and friends as "Ole Boy", he will sadly be missed. Tommy was a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He graduated from St. Martin High School in 1963. He was employed as a paint and body technician with Dees Chevrolet for 32 years. He also owned and operated his own paint and body shop from his home for 38 years.
Tommy was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved fishing with his wife and hunting with his son. Tommy also enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
He is preceded in death by 2 brothers Alexander Dimitry Jr. and Joseph Dimitry, father-in-law Paul Kilpatrick, and mother-in-law Elizabeth Kilpatrick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Sylvia Dimitry, daughter Sylina (Lee) Parker, son Thomas (Shelly) Dimitry II, 3 grandchildren Kyle (Angela) Dimitry, Courtney Parker, Raven Dimitry, and 5 great grandchildren Amelia, Eleanor, Liam, Oliver, and Thomas Lee, sister Debra Dimitry Thorton, and numerous other family and friends.
The Family will welcome friends on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 9:00am-11:00am for a celebration of life at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services Chapel, 6631 Washington Ave., Ocean Springs, MS 39564 and a service immediately following at 11:00am
