Obituary for Donna Zelda Griffin (Fletcher)

Donna Zelda Griffin (Fletcher), age 62, of Latimer, MS passed away on April 13, 2023. Donna was born
into a loving family in Hattiesburg, MS on February 22, 1961. She lived all along the MS coast but home
was always Latimer. Donna married Richard M. Griffin Jr. and they had two children, Ricky and Freddie.
She later met Ronald E. Johnson and would spend the rest of her life with him.
Donna is preceded in death by her father, James Franklin Fletcher; her mother, Zelda Adcock Fletcher; two
sisters, Faye and Carol Ann; her brother, Arthur; and her life partner Ron. She is survived by her sister
Evelyn; brothers Harold, John, Luther, Eddie, and Stanley; two sons and five grandchildren. Due to
Donna's love and caring for people there are far too many friends that became and will always be family to
list.
Donna was a social person who loved people almost to a fault. She would go out of her way to help
someone even if they didn't need it. People that were complete strangers would quickly see her for who
she is and realize that she is the kind of person you need in life. This caring is what led to her very large
extended family. So many people that could have been a blip in her life became a very important piece of it.
This love for people will be her legacy. For centuries people have believed you die twice. Once when you
take your last breath and again when people stop thinking of you. Due to this Donna may very well live on
longer than some of us reading this.
Her family will welcome friends from 9am-11am on Wednesday April 19,2023 for visitation and an 11am service immediately following visitation at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services Chapel, 6631 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS 39564 .A graveside service will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 8910 Carl
Legett Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503 following the services.
