Obituary

Ida Richoux Stewart of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019.

Ida lived in Ocean springs for 70 years. She retired from Bankcorp South after 23 years. She did not like life after retirement and after working several part-time jobs, she became a “Day One” Sales Associate at the Beau Rivage. During her 20 years at the Beau she was a dedicated, loyal employee and made many good friends that she often referred to as “her family”. Sadly, Ida had to leave the Beau in September due to declining health.

She was born in Marrero, LA on December 31, 1928. Her family later returned to their family home in Larose, LA where she grew up.

Ida, affectionately known as Meme, will always be remembered, loved and cherished.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Stewart Maniscalco (FranK) of Ocean Springs, and Leslie Stewart of Baton Rouge, LA.. Ida is also survived by five grand-children and ten great grand-children; Grand-children are Michael Desilvey (Keysha), Miranda Zehnder (Shane), Kristina Bowker (Alan), Danielle McCarroll (Brandon) and Cody Walker (Gabrielle); Great Grand-Children are Caeleb Desilvey, Cassidy Desilvey, Kylie DeSilvey, Christian Anderson, Shaylah Lane, Dakota Lane, Kaley Love, Kara Love, Max McCarroll and Annalise Walker. She is also survived by her brother, Fred Richoux (Judy) and her beloved niece , Sherry Martin (Danny).

Ida is preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Amelia (Guidroz) Richoux; her sisters, Lillian Richoux, Gladys Veazey, Edna Bischoff, Theresa Causin; and brother, Phillip Richoux.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 12911 E. Main St., Larose, LA.

To the family, my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in the knowledge that soon God will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things (will) have passed away.”(Rev. 21:3,4) May this promise give you comfort now and a real hope for the future. My deepest sympathies.
